Laos Reference Map

This map provides a general overview of notable places in Laos and highlights the country's protected areas. To create this project, I located various forms of reference data from authoritative sources and symbolized them in ArcGIS Pro. When selecting data to include on this map, I made sure to choose features that provided helpful geographic context and emphasized what made Laos unique. The country has an intricate system of National Protected Areas that cover 14% of its area, which I believed would add to viewers' understanding of Laos' environment, economy, and society (WWF). 

This project was completed to satisfy the requirements of a course on cartographic principles.
